The Turbiscan

Turbiscan is designed to profiling changes in emulsion and suspension with time.
What Formulaction name the evolution of your products.
The clever diagram below graphically demonstrates the basic principle and the type of results they can produce.

  • Turbiscan MA2000 is the based on the original and is now the entry level stability tester.
  • Turbiscan 2000 Heavy Fuel, is a dedicated variant for testing fuel oil stability according to ASTM D7061.
  • Turbiscan Lab is the higher performance system for formulation studies with extra options and software.
  • Turbiscan AGS is based on the Lab and has a multi-position automatic sampler for advanced R&D with temperature zones.
  • Turbiscan on-Line gives process development a new facility.
Formulaction's data base on Stability testing can be accessed in this link  just below.
Formulaction's web site also has excellent training aides and you can
link to the background here.

 Horus

Horus is the new instrument for testing films, paints, cosmetics, glues etc drying.
The photo below shows a dual head system for two samples with the graph showing film hardening with time.
The Horus relies on sensing speckle pattern, the underlying technology of PCS and DLS technology.

It uniquely quantifies the drying and hardening thin films and brings science to subjective concepts like "touch dry" "hard" etc.

  Rheolaser

Formulaction are the first instrument manufacturer to release an instrument that utilises Diffusing Wave Spectroscopy (DWS) for use with concentrated emulsions and creams - to characterise the microRheology of materials.

    DWS     dws

The instrument named Rheolaser is now being shipped to customers, the first adopters of the technology.
  • Rheolaser has 6 sample positions
  • Measures the sample in a state of REST
  • large sample chambers ensure no wall effects
  • Automatic Mean Square Displacement plots MSD
  • Up to 5 decades of frequency data derived with no sample intrusion
  • Temperature control from Room to 60C
  • No geometries required
  • Easy to use software
  • Investigate structure recovery, Thixotropy
  • Calculate Elastic and Storage Modulus
If you have an interest in this new technology, please use the sales enquiry form.
